I want to cook more

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Irish Bananas
Irish Chicken & Dumplings
Glazed Corned Beef
Bumbleberry Pie
Raspberry Topped Lemon Pie
Ham-Stuffed Manicotti
Three Cheese Chicken Bake
I could keep going…

Allrecipes.com lets you change the number of servings and it calculates new amounts for you. Not hard to do on your own but a neat feature. They don’t change the cook time according to how much you’re making though.

UFOs

I have too many unfinished projects. I don’t have time to do much with school, but I don’t let that stop me from getting materials for and starting new things. I’m going to make myself a goal of finishing everything I’ve started within a year of graduating. That may or may not be possible. I do like to pretend I’ll have more time than I probably will actually have.

words of wisdom

“The internet is going to destroy the world one day, and you don’t want to get touched by a child molester while it does.” – My brother’s view of the internet / meeting someone from the internet. Because everyone on the internet molests children, and so would be coming after me, a 22 year old.

marathon

Sunday, November 19th, 2006

I watched my cousin and her fiancĂ© run in the Philadelphia Marathon this morning. It was really cool to be down there seeing everyone come in. I knew what their approximate times would be so I went to the finish line in front of the Art Museum about half an hour before that, just in case. He came in at 03:45:39, and she came in at 04:56:42. I was thinking it’d be cool to run that too.. and then I remembered it’s 26 miles. It would take me forever to do a 5k at this point. Maybe I’ll start running again. Except it’s winter now so I probably won’t because I lose all motivation to get out of my bed when it’s cold.

I took my film camera with me since I have a telephoto lens for it. I hadn’t used it in years. But then I got so excited when they came in that I was cheering and probably didn’t take good pictures. It’ll probably be a long time before I find out. I have no idea when I’m going to finish the roll of film. I’ll have to make an effort to bring it home for Thanksgiving or something. It was cool though because a lot of people finished holding hands with whatever group they were part of, or their kids came out and ran the last bit with them. There were a couple of guys who came in with some seriously bleeding nipples though. It was painful to even look at.

OCMS

I’ve been listening to a lot of Old Crow Medicine Show. I won’t subject you to more youtube, but they’re all over it. They just played at the TLA last month so I missed them. Whenever I start listening to someone new, it turns out they’ve just played in Philly in the past month. That’s so annoying.

I’m not really an Eminem fan but I absolutely loved this video when it came out.

Foggy Mountain Breakdown

I love how Earl Scruggs just looks around like his hands aren’t even doing anything.

Leo (July 23 – August 22): Your paranoid ramblings will once again give the seven government agents who gather each morning at a subterranean, state-of-the-art civilian surveillance facility a good laugh.

I’ve been sitting here just refreshing cnn to see the results as they come in.
