I made these Homespun Baby Afghans for a coworker who just had a baby and a coworker who is about to. The yarn is Lion Brand Homespun 98% acrylic / 2% polyester crocheted on a size N hook. The blue-ish yarn is Windsor (341) and the green-ish yarn is Regency (320), and both are from AC Moore.

I finally finished the Spice-Toned Treasure afghan from FamilyCircle’s Easy Afghans. I chose different colors though, using Carons Simply Soft 100% acrylic in Seashell (9745), Toasted Almond (9746), Country Blue (9710), Dark Country Blue (9711), Copper Kettle (9744), Buttercup (9743), and Black (9727). I got all of the yarn at AC Moore. There are 140 granny squares whip-stitched together using hook size N. The only way I varied from the pattern was in the border. Instead of whip-stitching around the edge, I did a row of single crochet and then a row of double crochet.

This pattern comes from the Woman’s Day Specials: Quick & Easy Knitting & Crocheting premiere issue. It’s my first crochet project. The stitches I learned are ch, sl st, sc, dc, and a special “popcorn” stitch (pc). The yarn is TLC Cotton Plus 51% cotton / 49% acrylic in the colors Red (3907), Lavendar (3590), Spruce (3503), Cream (3100), and Tan (3303). I used a size H-8 hook.
