Knit Hat and Scarf

Filed under: knitting — Kristin @ 9:32 pm

This pattern comes from the Woman’s Day Specials: Quick & Easy Knitting & Crocheting premiere issue.  I had some issues with both the hat and the scarf pattern and restarted both several times.  The hat pattern I completely scrapped.  It was supposed to be done on straight needles and there were holes showing up in the decreases, even though at least 5 experienced knitters told me I was following the pattern correctly.  So I ended up just using the Kittyville pattern (from Stitch ‘N Bitch) with the rim being K2P2 ribbing instead of seed stitch.  The scarf I just had problems with because it was really my first time doing lacework and using extremely large needles.  Once I got the hang of it though I was fine.  The yarn is Red Heart Super Saver 100% acrylic in Artist Print (315) and the eyelash yarn is Moda Dea Espree 100% polyester in Majesty (2353).  The hat used size 7 needles and the scarf size 19.

Kittyville and Mobile Monster

Filed under: knitting — Kristin @ 11:38 pm

I finished the Kittyville hat (from Stitch ‘N Bitch) on January 14th but didn’t have a picture until I gave it to Laura tonight for her birthday.  The Mobile Monster (from Stitch ‘N Bitch Nation) I just finished today.  The yarn for the hat is Patons Classic Wool Merino 100% pure new wool in Russet (206) that I got from AC Moore.  I used size 7 needles for it.  The yarn for the cell phone holder is Berroco Plush 100% nylon in Jazzy Turquoise (1924) that I got from Yarnware. I used size 5 needles for that.  This hat was my first time using circs, dpns, seed stich, decreases, i-cord, and pom poms.  The bunny was my first time doing yarn overs and increases.
