I made Avast for Michael using Cascade 220 Wool 100% Peruvian highland wool in black on US 4 and 6 needles. The only difference is that I took the cable out, and added length everywhere.

I made this baby blanket for Kevin using the Horizontal Waves pattern from the Vogue Knitting Stitchionary Volume One. The yarn is KnitPicks Swish Worsted 100% superwash merino wool in Tidepool Heather and it was knit on US 8 needles.

I made the Amanda Hat [pdf] for Nichelle. The yarn is Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice 100% acrylic in Kelly Green (172) and it was knit on US 9 needles.

This ornament is from 101 Christmas Minis Book 2 by Holly DeFount (Leisure Arts 2535).

I made this ornament for a pregnant friend whose mother-in-law is already buying “Baby’s 1st Christmas” things, even though the baby isn’t due until March. I found the graphic online and altered it a little bit while turning it into a usable chart.

I finally learned how to cross stitch so that I could make some Christmas ornaments. Here is my first one, from 101 Christmas Minis Book 2 by Holly DeFount (Leisure Arts 2535).

I made this Robot Blanket (based on the Robot Hat) for Owen. The yarn is Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice 100% acrylic in Kelly Green (172), Espresso (127), and Beige (123). It was knit on US 9 needles. I duplicate stitched the robots on instead of knitting them in because it presents a slightly neater back with less loops for little fingers to get stuck in.

This sewing screen was made to match one my mom has that her grandfather and aunt helped her make when she was little. My dad made me the frame for Christmas and my mom helped me put together the background and pockets. Then I had to eat lots of jelly to get those empty jars but it’s finally completely finished.
