I think I lose my mind when I go shopping. It takes me forever to find anything I like, but then suddenly I like everything. I end up having to convince myself not to buy most of the stuff. Especially shoes. I went to Famous Footwear tonight to get shoes for salsa since we plan on going to lessons every week. I found a pair with a strap holding the back on (which is what the instructor said we needed), and the heel isn’t too high or too thin, and the bottom is smooth enough to spin easily on the floor. I didn’t want to get leather-soled shoes because they get ruined so quickly walking through the city. These will definitely do though because they’re not rubbery or grippy at all. I had another pair of shoes I was wearing for a while at the store, but I finally convinced myself not to get them since I don’t have much to match brown shoes and the heels were 4 inches (which I try not to wear too often since it makes me over 6’2″). I texted pictures of the shoes to 2 friends, who were supposed to discourage me from buying both pairs, but instead they told me to do it. But I resisted. I haven’t been to a Famous Footwear in years though. I forgot how nice their shoes are, and usually comfortable, and with decent prices too. The gorgeous shoes I got at Target a couple months ago hurt so much I can’t wear them again – Famous Footwear had very similar, very COMFORTABLE ones for like $8 more. I knew Target shoes would be painful but they were so cute. Never again. I’m shopping here from now on.

I may or may not have a shoe fetish. It’s not like I buy expensive ones at all though. Hmmm…

BUDAPEST (Reuters) – Hungarian builders who drank their way to the bottom of a huge barrel of rum while renovating a house got a nasty surprise when a pickled corpse tumbled out of the empty barrel, a police magazine website reported.

According to online magazine www.zsaru.hu, workers in Szeged in the south of Hungary tried to move the barrel after they had drained it, only to find it was surprisingly heavy and were shocked when the body of a naked man fell out.

The website said that the body of the man had been shipped back from Jamaica 20 years ago by his wife in the barrel of rum in order to avoid the cost and paperwork of an official return.

According to the website, workers said the rum in the 300-liter barrel had a “special taste” so they even decanted a few bottles of the liquor to take home.

The wife has since died and the man was buried in a proper grave.

Brasil’s was a lot of fun last night. There were more guys than girls there for the dance lessons, which I thought was kind of weird. It was way too crowded though. There was barely any room to turn and I kept getting stepped on and running into people. Cuba Libre tomorrow night. Let’s see if I can remember anything.
