Pretty much every week day I get out of the shower and immediately get on my bike with soaking wet hair to ride to class or work. I keep ending up with the swept back Farrah Fawcett hair (in a bad way).

my car again
I went out to my car yesterday to go home for my brother’s birthday, and my driver’s side mirror was gone. Just gone. The mirror, half the backing. Someone probably just hit it with their mirror while driving by. Thank you.
I didn’t think it’d be that bad to drive without it since one of my friends has been missing hers for a while. I was wrong. It was horrible. It’s hard to merge, hard to parallel park, and I felt like someone was going to sneak attack me from behind.
I stopped at my mechanic’s and he called like 6 different parts places before he even found one who had the part. Apparently it’s too much to ask for people to keep 15 year old parts around. $65 for used, $85 for new. And that’s when he gives it to me at his cost. I think he felt sorry for me because just last week I asked how much new front struts would be ($375), and my exhaust is still loud and annoying ($???).

James Hunter
Some James Hunter videos from the show at the TLA I missed:
Don’t Do It
Talking ‘Bout My Love
yep
Last weekend was good. Lots of driving: I went to State College, then Lamoka Lake, then my parents’ house to sit by their pool. I got kind of tan, which hasn’t happened in a couple of years. When I was little I used to get so brown from being outside all the time. I came back to Philly for the 4th. I had a great view of the Art Museum fireworks from a friend’s balcony. It was raining during them but still fun.
Right now I’m avoiding all the work I didn’t do last weekend. Most of my professors seemed to think the holiday weekend would be good for spending lots of time on their projects. I chose to spend my time on vacation.
Sean is moving out so I’m going to have a living room for a couple of months before Eunice moves in in January. I’ll probably have more parties since there will be more room for them. I was thinking one this month but I can’t decide on a day. I’d like to get down the shore a couple times this summer so I was thinking I’d do that soon too.
Oh look, I’ve procrastinated enough that it’s now time to get ready to go out for a friend’s 21st. I have excellent timing.
last weekend’s wedding
Congratulations to Jake and Archer!
And I don’t think I ever posted one for Amie and Andy so here they are too (from April):
bridesmaid
My bridesmaid dress for Lisa’s wedding:
I just need some silver shoes to go with it. All (6) of the bridesmaids loved it and we were done in 15 minutes. We were only supposed to be deciding on a color. We’re awesome. Lisa was the same way, absolutely loved the first wedding gown she tried on. Her mom made her try on more just to make sure but she went back to the first one.

Comanche Moon (Chapter 1 here) is being made into a mini-series! Steve Zahn is playing Gus, which I think should fit just fine. Some Australian actor who I don’t know is playing Woodrow. He’d better be good. Val Kilmer is in it too. I love him. It looks like this will be coming out on CBS in November. I can’t wait!
If you haven’t seen the other Lonesome Dove mini-series (or read the books for that matter), I suggest you get to it:
Lonesome Dove – book – tv
Streets of Laredo – book – tv
Dead Man’s Walk – book – tv
Comanche Moon – book – tv
(that’s the order they were written in, which is not chronological for the stories, but I like it that way)
I’m back

This picture has two things I want: a Mini Cooper convertible, and a big black Great Dane.
Last week at the lake was very nice. Relaxing and lots of fun.
Classes start again tomorrow. Only taking 5 this term.
Another friend from high school is now engaged, and so is one of my cousins.
Going to a wedding in State College on Saturday morning, then up to the lake again for my cousins’ graduation party. Lots of driving to be done. I’ll probably stay until the 4th.
