it’s Hedley

Everybody’s talking about the snow we’re supposed to get tomorrow. 6-12 inches. I hope it doesn’t snow, it will ruin my plans for tomorrow night. I’m not really expecting to get that much since the forecast is usually wrong.

I went home last night for Laura’s birthday. She’s 15 now. Not cool. My brother also got his civil service exam results yesterday. He did really, really well. I guess he’ll be a firefighter soon.

Dates to keep in mind:
Friday, February 17th – Burnt Sienna at Finnigan’s
Saturday, March 4th – AOH St. Pat’s Party – $25, open bar and food too I’m assuming – it’s a fundraiser so let me know if you want tickets
Friday, March 17th – St. Pat’s party at my apartment

Speaking of the AOH, my dad wants to do Project Children this summer and have some Northern Irish kid come stay with them for 6 weeks. That would be interesting.

And here’s some trivia for you: What Weird Al song does Blair have set to ring when I call? Winners will receive… nothing. :)

knitting

I got my German knitting mags today. I love pretty much all the patterns in them.

I also finished Laura’s sweater. Kind of. I was running out of yarn so I finished the top about 1.5 inches too soon. I still think it looks okay on me so I’ll have her try it on before I go get another skein.

Finished another hat for my aunt: https://kribit.com/2006/02/05/cabled-wide-brim-hat/
I did it while visiting my grandmother and instead of watching the SuperBowl.

5 careers: Big demand, big pay

Technology
Two tech jobs in high demand these days are .NET (dot net) developers and quality assurance analysts.

Developers who are expert users of Microsoft’s software programming language .NET can make between $75,000 and $85,000 a year in major cities when they’re starting out. If they pursue a job at a company that seeks someone with a background in a given field (say, a firm looking for a .NET developer experienced in using software related to derivatives) they might snag a salary hike of 15 percent or more when they switch jobs.

Those who work in software quality management, meanwhile, might make $65,000 to $75,000 a year and be able to negotiate a 10 percent to 15 percent jump in pay if they switch jobs.

so sunny outside

What a gorgeous day. And tomorrow looks like it’s going to suck. Awesome.

Tonight is hanging out with some Jersey girls. Tomorrow night is dinner/dancing on a boat then old city.

:)

rebecca

I just ordered a couple Rebecca magazines. A little expensive, especially with shipping from Germany, but I think it will be worth it.

I especially want the shrug (2nd one in):

FO

I finally put Duo together. The pieces have been finished for several weeks now.

I’m halfway through Laura’s present.
