Besotted Scarf

Filed under: knitting — Kristin @ 10:30 am

I finished Besotted Scarf for me, using Black Oak Wool Company Fisherman 100% wool in Medium Sheeps Grey on size 8 needles. I made the whole thing without a cable needle. The pattern was very easy to get to know and I didn’t need it after the first couple of repeats.

Perdita

Filed under: knitting — Kristin @ 6:34 pm

I made a few versions of Perdita using DMC Pearl Cotton #5. The rose one is the Lilac pattern in color #315 for me. The brown one is the Lily of the Valley pattern in #838 for my brother’s girlfriend. The seed beads are some my mom has had since she was little. The buttons are 1/4″ La Mode style 49162. These bracelets were knit on US 1 needles. This was my first time knitting with beads.

I designed Mikey for my father for his birthday.  The yarn is Mountain Colors Bearfoot 60% superwash wool / 25% mohair / 15% nylon in Evergreen, and I got it at Rosie’s.  It was knit on size 6 needles with size 7 for the brim.  This was my first design.

I made Tempting for Laura for her birthday.  The yarn is Cashmere Luxury Aran 45% merino wool / 49% microfiber / 6% cashmere in Plum (07) from AC Moore.  The needles were size 8.  I needed an extra skein since I made the torso 2 inches longer than called for.

Duo

Filed under: knitting — Kristin @ 11:13 pm

I made Duo for my cousin’s baby.  The yarn is TLC Cara Mia 50% acyrlic / 19% nylon / 18% rayon / 13% angora in Demin (2801), Cranberry (2376), and Winter White (2001) that I got at AC Moore.  The buttons are 7/8″ from JHB International, style 92086.  I used size 7 needles.  The sweater is size 2T.

Once he actually tried the sweater on I removed the buttons.  They were too close together for comfort and actually completely unnecessary, which is a shame since I love those buttons.

Floppy Brim Hat

Filed under: knitting — Kristin @ 10:52 pm

I finished the Floppy Brim Hat for my aunt. It is meant to match the Breast Cancer Ribbon Scarf and uses the same yarn: Rowan Yarns Classic Cashsoft Aran 57% extra fine merino / 33% microfibre / 10% cashmere in Burst (005) that I got at Rosie’s.  I used size 7 needles for this as well.  I blocked the hat using a balloon for shaping.
